Thank you to all of you who prayed for Mendy and our family today. Although we were not able to get 100% of the information today, we are convinced that God did an amazing work. The news we received came with mixed results, but in the big scheme we are very blessed. Currently they are treating the sore as a 3rd degree pressure wound and Mendy will need to be on bed rest for the next month or so, however both the wound care and Dr. House saw some aspects that were positive and feel it will heal quickly. We are praying that Mendy will heal quickly and that she will be able to continue strengthening.
God has been so good to us and we want to give Him the honor and glory for all that He has done! Please continue to pray for us through this time and that as Mendy is not able to get up, that she will be encouraged and strengthened through our Savior! We look forward to updating you again soon. Thank you for staying faithful to pray for us!
What a mighty God we serve!
Jason and Mendy Brockman
Update from Mrs. Trieber: Mendy was able to get her soft collar off today! She is now "collar free". She also has had VERY SLIGHT movement with her left thumb today! That is a direct answer to prayer on this Monday for Mendy day of prayer. Please keep praying that God will do the miraculous this week. Thousands of people around the world are praying for this special couple. Jason and Mendy are so encouraged by the prayers of God's people. "I'm so glad we're a part of the family of God"! Heaven will be wonderful when we all get to meet. Thank you for praying!
Update from Mrs. Trieber: For the past 47 days it has been our privilege to speak with Jason getting updates on Mendy and the events of their day. We have been encouraged and blessed by this godly young man time after time. We've been able to detect, on occasion, that he is physically tired but we have never heard discouragement in his voice, only praise and confidence in God and complete trust in Him. Thank you Jason, for portraying a Christ-like spirit when your whole world has been turned upside down! Mendy continues to do well in therapy. She's been able to stop one of the medications for the spasticity and today's "news flash".....for the first time in 6 1/2 weeks she had VERY SLIGHT MOVEMENT WITH THE PINKY ON HER LEFT HAND! She has had ZERO movement with her left hand until tonight! Our God is the God of the impossible. Blood pressure remains good and her body is gaining strength every day. Please continue to pray for movement in her hands and fingers and specifically, that she will be able to grip with that right hand. Mendy continues to be in good spirits and is encouraged with the little miracle that God sent her way today. Thank you for upholding this family in your prayers. Our God is able !
Update from Mrs. Cindie Trieber:
Bro Trieber and I just finished a lengthy conversation with Jason. Mendy has seen some progress today. She is having some sensations from her knees to her waist. Please do not confuse this with movement. However, it is a good sign. She now has sensation in most of her body. Is it any coincidence that so much of the good news we receive happens on Tuesday after God's people around the country and world spend the day in prayer on Monday? I don't think so.
Due to some spasms Mendy is having, they took some X-rays and tests to be sure there aren't any additional breaks or bruises they were not aware of prior to this time. Please pray for good results. Mendy's blood pressure continues to remain good.
This Friday hits the six-week mark since the accident. I have been asking God to do some miraculous things in this time frame. Please continue to pray! God is definitely answering our prayers!
Update on Mendy from Mrs. Trieber:
Mendy had a good day today. Her blood pressure was good and she was able to do several transfers during therapy. Mendy is experiencing some movement with the thumb of her right hand!
It is becoming more evident that Mendy is about half way through her hospitable stay. The accident occurred 5 weeks ago tonight. Please keep praying that she can greatly advance in the days and weeks that are ahead. It is imperative that we keep praying fervently for Mendy. My faith certainly has grown in the last 5 weeks and I trust yours has as well.
Please uphold Jason, Bro & Mrs Buck, and Alyssa & Carissa Brockman in prayer as they continue to minister to the needs of the household and family during this time. Jason has an enormous amount on his plate. Please pray for him.
Thank you friends for your prayers and for all that you are doing for this young couple. We can't quit now!
Update on Mendy from Jason:
1. Yesterday and today Mendy has been able to almost completely dress herself with very little assistance from the nurses. Huge accomplishment!
2. Mendy was placed in a manual wheelchair today and was able to wheel herself up and down a hallway which was approximately 120 feet.
3. She was able to use her arms to completely turn herself in bed.
4. Her blood pressure has stabilized to a much higher level. Praise!
5. Mendy has been able to be a huge witness for Christ during this very difficult time.
6. We are overwhelmed by the huge response from both the website and the huge outpouring of cards and letters today from God's people. Thank you so much for praying.
(From Mrs. Trieber): Bro Trieber and I would also like to thank you for the incredible response from around our nation and the world on behalf of Jason and Mendy. Please keep praying for this precious couple.
Update on Mendy (From Mrs. Trieber): Bro Trieber and I just got off the with Jason. Two weeks ago tonight, this awful accident took place and by morning, they were told Mendy was permanently paralyzed. BUT what a mighty God we serve! Mendy had a good day today. The doctors are pleased with how she is doing and basically said she can direct her own care. She continues in therapy most of the day. The exciting news for today is that Mendy now has movement in the ring finger of her right hand! That means the index finger and ring finger have movement. She was able to lift a 5-pound weight with her right hand and a 1-pound weight with her left. She got the staples out of her neck and a new neck brace.
Specifics in prayer would be:
1. An elevation in her blood pressure.
2. Relief of nausea when she has movement (as in sitting up and getting from bed to wheelchair, etc.)
3. Spasms that are painful.
4. Continued movement for her hands and fingers.
Jason and Mendy are deeply encouraged by the prayers and answers to prayers of God's people. We ask specifically for prayer for Jason as he has the overwhelming task of his wife, four precious children, and continues to mend himself physically at this time. The testimony of this young couple amazes us and truly to God be the glory. Updates over the weekend will not be as specific as her regular doctors and nurses are not on duty. We will continue to give you updates through Facebook and on Mondays for Mendy. Thank you for praying! James 5:16
Update on Mendy (from Mrs. Trieber): Good but rather tough day today in some regards. The team of Doctors met and hopefully, they will be able to discuss their findings in the next day or two. The head doctor did some sensory testing on Mendy and was pleased with some of the results.
Their oldest daughter, Alana , was able to see her mommy today. As a mother, that had to be an emotional day for Mendy.
Please continue to pray for strength, grace, comfort and healing. This website will have a full report for you next week, and we will seek to keep you as updated as possible. Thank you in advance for your prayers!
Update on Mendy (from Mrs. Trieber): Bro Trieber and I just got off the phone with Jason. Mendy had a good day today. Therapy is going well. Mendy has VERY SLIGHT movement in her thumb and 2 fingers on right hand. Movement with her arms is better as well. On a scale of 0-5 her right arm is about a 4 and her left arm about 3.
Mendy is in good spirits and she is so encouraged by the thoughts and prayers of God's people.
Below are two pictures of their car from the accident. It is a miracle that this couple is alive! Please keep praying for Jason and Mendy. We serve a wonderful Savior!
Update on Mendy (from Jason): It was a good day today. Mendy was able to get a shower and help dress herself. We were also able to go outside and get some much needed sunshine and fresh air! She had a good therapy session of balancing and learning to transfer from her bed to her wheelchair.
We just spent an hour or so reading emails sent in to the Mondays for Mendy page, and we have been overwhelmed!
We are feeling so loved and encouraged!!
Please, keep praying for us.
- Jason and Mendy
Update on Mendy (from Jason): Mendy had a good day in therapy and was able to be a witness for the Lord to her therapists who said they could not believe Mendys attitude and how Mendy is the most "grounded" patient they have ever seen.
Mendy was able to lift a 2 lb weight bar with both arms today in many motions. She was able to balance a bit sitting up and the BEST news is that today for the first time Mendy was very very slightly able to move her right index finger very slowly (about 1/4 inch).
Update on Mendy (from Cindie Trieber): Update on Mendy: I was thrilled to be able to talk to Mendy on the phone this afternoon. She is in such good spirits and is really trusting in God through this difficult situation. I called her to be an encouragement to her and she was an encouragement to me. She is continuing in therapy.
She has SLIGHT movement in the index finger on her right hand! For all of you praying, and there are now thousands of you, what an answer to prayer as we are asking God to specifically give her feeling back in her hands and fingers. Please keep praying. I am confident that God is going to give Mendy more than she even hopes and prays for!
Jason sent me a picture of Mendy after the accident and one of the two of them today and all I can say is AMAZING in a week! We will eventually post pictures when both Jason and Mendy give their permission and pictures to post. Please go to Mondays for Mendy @ NVBC.org for updates or if you would like to connent. Jason and Mendy receive all of the comments and are so encouraged by all of you! PLEASE don't quit now! Lets continue to pray Mendy through to a full recovery! God is able. No need to doubt Him now. God bless!
Update on Mendy (from Cindie Trieber): I was able to speak with Jason at great length this evening. On the positive side, Mendy had a good day today. She was able to sit in an electric wheelchair for a substantial amount of time.
Please pray specifically for: the nerve pain to subside. She is in a lot of pain with that. She needs an INCREASE in her blood pressure. It is too low. Mendy is begging God's people to pray that she will get the feeling back in her fingers and her hands.
Jason and Mendy are trophies of God's grace. Please continue to pray!
